The American pulp and paper industry is the largest in the world, accounting for approximately 40 percent of global production. The industry is highly competitive, with a number of large companies competing for market share. The top five producers in the United States are International Paper, Georgia-Pacific, WestRock, Domtar and Packaging Corporation of America.
