The steel industry in America is a major employer. The steel industry employs more than 600,000 people in the United States, with the majority of these jobs located in steel-producing states such as Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Indiana. The steel industry also contributes significantly to the U.S. economy, with the industry contributing more than $100 billion to the U.S. GDP annually.

The industry is responsible for the production of a variety of steel products, including sheet, plate, structural shapes and other products. Steel is used in a wide range of industries, including construction, automotive and aerospace.

The steel industry in America is highly dependent on the global economy. The U.S. steel industry is heavily dependent on imports, with the majority of steel imports coming from China Japan, and South Korea. The U.S. steel industry is also highly dependent on exports, with the majority of our steel exports going to Mexico, Canada and other countries.
